Anxiety - Racing ahead
Anxiety plays an important role in keeping us safe, acting like an ‘early warning system’ in different situations. However, for the many Australians suffering from anxiety, worries are a constant feature of every day. Anxiety can interfere with one's enjoyment of life and may cause issues with work, relationships and self-perception. While there are different forms of anxiety conditions, each affects a person's ability to go about their daily activities. Anxiety conditions, however, are treatable and the most important first step is to learn about them.
When you have an anxiety disorder, it can affect your ability to focus on a task, sleep, or carry out normal tasks throughout the day. People suffering from anxiety may try to avoid stressful situations and in extreme cases, may avoid going out altogether. Some physical symptoms of an anxiety condition may include: racing heart, shortness of breath and shaking hands.
You are not alone. One in four Australians at sometime during their life is affected by an anxiety condition. There is HOPE. Association of Adventist Counsellors wants to help people, like yourself, to get your life back. We provide an educational program and support to help you recover.
